Law enforcement system needs highly qualified specialists – Anatoly Kuleshov, the Minister of Internal Affairs, told at today’s grand opening of Mogilev Higher College of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.

Mogilev citizen are recommended to spend a Knowledge Day without alcohol, - the correspondent of the site was told at the ideological department of Mogilev city executive committee. Thus, according to the order of the chairman of city executive committee, no alcohol is recommended to be sold by different shops in the region from 9 a.m. of September,1 till 9 a.m. of September, 2. Trade and services department of city executive committee, as well as departments of internal affairs of Oktyabrski and Leninski districts will be monitoring execution of the order.

On September 1, the Republic of Belarus celebrates the Day of Knowledge. The chairman of Mogilev regional executive committee Peter Rudnick visited today specialized secondary boarding school for the visually impaired children in Shklov.

National Youth’s Volleyball Team was defeated for the third time in a row in the European Championship that takes place in Bobruisk and Mogilev. Belarusian sportsmen lost the game against Spaniards - 0:3 (17:25, 27:29, 22:25). The game took place at “Olympiets” Sports Complex. Previously Belarusians lost games with Bulgarians and Serbians with the same result 1:3.

Mogilev region started the action “Let’s say “NO” to Drunkenness”. The information is provided by the Regional Drug Rehabilitation Centre. The goal of the event is to propagandize healthy way of life among teenagers and the youth. The action is initiated by militia, educational and health care establishments. Lectures on harmful effect of alcohol will be delivered at educational establishments of all types – from secondary schools to Universities.

Mogilev City Public Service Enterprise “Prokat” and Regional Educational Department arrange the action “First school present”. This year over three thousand pupils will go to school for the first time. September, 1 will start with a special ceremony dedicated to the Day of Knowledge where all first-form pupils will get free tickets to visit an amusement park. The park which is in Pushkinski Avenue, 7 will welcome first-form pupils by growth puppets to visit various entertainment events. The guests will also have a chance “to try on” an aqua make-up.

This school year Mogilev region numbers about 111 thousand pupils. 9,800 of them are first-form pupils. The information is provided by the Educational Department of Mogilev Regional executive Committee. According to specialists, all schools of the region have proved to be ready for a new school year. Br42,6 bln was allotted for school repairing works: to prevent emergency situations, to repair roofs, windows and utilities, to restore sanitary facilities and canteens.

A singer and song-writer from Minsk Aleksey Nezhevets won a singing competition of “Big Bard Fishing”; Vyacheslav Klimovich from Gomel got the biggest bream. These are the results of “Big Bard Fishing” Festival that took place on August, 26-29 in “Peschany Bereg” Farmstead, Bykhov district. Participants of the festival appreciated good friendly atmosphere of the event. A song “My God” by a singer from Minsk was the best and got a medal of the festival and a singing crucian carp of “Big Bard Fishing” designed by Igor Grishin.
