On May 24 Mogilev “Spartak” hosts the tenth game of the football tournament “Belarusbank championship of the Republic of Belarus – 2013, major league”. The local football club “Dnieper” will play with “Naftan” from Novopolotsk. The match starts at 7 p.m.

New works producing folding furniture is to be set up by Mogilev “Olsa” this year, the source at the enterprise informed. The enterprise has signed the contract with the Italian firm for delivering a high-volume production line and eight assembly stands. The capacity of the automated manufacturing will make up about 40,000 items a month. The new line will be assembled at “Tekhnopribor” plant that has recently become affiliated with “Olsa”.

Mogilev branch of the national unitary enterprise Belaeronavigatsiya started reconstruction and major repairs of runways and apron, the head of the branch Vladimir Nikitin informed.

Mogilev region postponed its mass swimming season till June. Bobruisk closed its Forshtadt beach because of the water does not correspond to microbiological norms. According to epidemiologists, most regional beaches are not ready for a swimming season. Neither Mogilev nor Bobruisk signed passports of having got the beaches ready for a swimming season.

Mogilev finished the regional art festival “Vyasyolkavy karagod” with a big concert. This year the forum has celebrated its tenth anniversary. During the school year education establishments for children with psychophysical peculiarities, disabled children, orphans arranged selection in two directions: amateur performances and decorative and applied arts. The winners took part in district and town contests. The final concert was held on May, 21. 280 children took part in amateur performances. 440 children’s works were presented.

May, 24-26 Mogilev’s “Olympiets” hosts a qualification tournament of the World Women’s Volleyball Championship. The national teams from Belarus, Denmark, Israel and Finland will take part in the event. Matches begin at 15.30 and 18.00.

Belarus’ contestant Alyona Lanskaya took the 16th place in the Final of the Eurovision-2013 Song Contest in Malmo. Alyona Lanskaya got 48 points getting the highest 12 points from Ukraine. Other countries from which Belarus got points were Israel (3 points), Moldova (4), Azerbaijan (7), Armenia (5), Malta (2), Greece (1), Montenegro (3), Georgia (5), Macedonia (5) and Lithuania (1).

Mogilev city traumatology centre informs of a rush of patients – 892 people applied for assistance at the medical establishment last week (about 130 a day).

Latvia’s Kraslava has become a twin town of the Belarusian town Gorki. The town twinning agreement was signed during the 2nd Latvian-Belarusian Forum of Twin Towns in Daugavpils on 17-18 May.

In Smolensk Russian searchers found the remains of a major general and 15 soldiers died during the Great Patriotic War. One of the soldiers is Alexander Romanovich Lugovtsov, born in 1919. Relatives of the Red Army soldier Alexander Lugovtsov are searched for.

Ineffectively used buildings in Mogilev region will be reconstructed into accommodation for rent. The proposition was made by the founder of JSC “Gazosilikat” Igor Rachitski during the meeting of the chairman of Mogilev region executive committee Petr Rudnik and the region’s business representatives dedicated to the problem of attracting investments into the region.

May, 18 the stadium “Spartak” holds the match of the ninth tour of the Football Championship of Belarus 2013. Mogilev’s “Dnepr” meet “Dinamo” from Brest. The match starts at 6 pm. After eight tours Mogilev football team has 11 points to take the eighth place. “Dinamo” has 4 points and takes the tenth place of the tournament rating.
