Tomorrow 125 children of the Mogilev specialized orphanage will get New Year presents from the German charity association providing assistance to Chernobyl tragedy children. The coordinator of the project Alla Serezhkina says that the association has cooperated with children’s medical and social establishments of the region for over 20 years. This time the New Year action is arranged by the initiative of the company “Siber-Vera” from Dossenheim.

Over 230 “stop-men” groups including 1,940 teachers, 1,100 parents and over 3,000 pupils work in Mogilev region. These groups together with state auto inspection officers are on duty by the schools located not far from the traffic area. In rush-hour they assist school children in crossing the road. 1656 babies (851 boys and 805 girls) had been registered at Mogilev region registry office by May 25, 2012 (1554 children – in 2011); no triples and 19 twins had been registered. The most popular names of boys are Artiom (62 boys); it is followed by Daniil, Maxim, Matvei, Ivan (last year’s leader), Alexander, Tsimofei, Nikita. Among the most unusual names are Elisei, Ramin, Akim, Amal, Arsen, Darkes, Tikhon, Emil.

This year 48,700 children will improve their health at summer camps of Mogilev region for the account of state social insurance funds; 27,200 of the children will spend time at daytime camps, others – at stationary camps. 400 children camps will operate at the region’s educational and sports establishments (21 stationary and 60 specialised camps, 25 camps at rented apartments, 4 – at sanatoriums).

April, 3 St Petersburg holds the charity concert raising money for treatment of a Russian boy. Valentin Safronov has an acute heart disease. Performers from different countries will take part in the event. Olga Gornichar will be one of them. The winners of the “Eurovision” Festival will to perform as well. They will represent Belgium, Italy, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.

12, 124 kids were born in Mogilev region in 2011. It is 249 kids more than in 2010. Only in six districts of Mogilev region (Dribin, Bykhov, Krasnopoliye, Krugloye, Mstaslavl, Osipovichi districts) the number of newborns decreased.

According to the Central Economic Crime Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, within 3 months a bank cashier from Belynichi Township robbed an orphan girl for Br11 mln. The woman had an easy access to the population’s deposits. Bank papers are well arranged to prove that the orphan girl withdraw money from her bank account herself.
