Remains of three soviet soldiers perished during the World War II were re-buried in Slavgorod. The name of one of them – Khachik Samuilovich Chekhikian from Maikop - was found out with the help of his medallion.
Before this Khachik Chekhikian had been on the list of missing persons. Now the place and time of his death is known: 1941, suburbs of Slavgorod. He was found holding a revolver in the hand; cartridges, boots, helmet, a gas mask, and a digging tool laid nearby.
A grandson of K. Chekhikian’s brother – Sergei Chekhikian came from Samara to partake at the re-burring ceremony. Representatives of the Armenian diaspora and the Embassy of Armenia in the Republic of Belarus also came to give the last honours to the soldier.
