Mogilev region’s blocks of flats with defaulted term of commission will be completed within the first six months of 2013, the head of housing construction and infrastructure committee of architecture and construction of Mogilev region executive committee Vladimir Golubev told. By 1 January, 2013 there were 41 such blocks of flats; so far, 13 of them have been commissioned, and the rest 28 must be commissioned by the end of the month. According to the decision of Mogilev region executive committee, persons in charge from the local administration have been assigned to every dwelling to monitor the process.

Mogilev region carried out the first hay harvest plan. The region’s agriculture enterprises stored up over 40,000 tons hay and about 900,000 tons haylage. This year the agriculture enterprises of Mogilev region started their hay harvesting campaign earlier then last year. The fact made it possible to store up good quality haylage with 2.5% increase.

A ten-year-boy body was found in the lake near Lenin village of Bobruisk district. According to eyewitnesses account, two boys launched a hand-made raft; suddenly one of them slipped and fell down into the water. Unfortunately, he wasn’t rescued.

The Mogilev branch of the Belarusian chamber of commerce and industry is developing relations with American colleagues. At the beginning of 2013 representatives of light industry enterprises had a visit to the USA and to hold negotiations with American companies.

1120 kg of expired term products was withdrawn from Mogilev region shops within 4 months of the current year. Expired foodstuffs were on sale in 190 shops; each was sent law prescription. 193 officials were fined (the total sum made up Br305,3 mln.).

In Mogilev region over 4 thousand students will be involved in constructing dairy goods farms. It doubles last year’s number. To construct 110 farms the region will form 290 students’ working teams each including 15 persons. They are supposed to arrive at their constructing objects by June, 15. Mstislavl, Glussk, Kirovsk, Klimovichi, Osipovichi and Bobruisk districts were the most active to form students’ working teams. They defined the field of operations, settled the questions of students’ accommodation and meals a month ago.

52 residents of Mogilev region crossed their 100-year old age line. It is the lowest number in the republic. The leaders are Brest and Grodno regions where the number of old resident makes over a hundred.

This year high-quality green forage laying-in is carried out with preserving agents. It will considerably increase consuming terms of the forage. About 154 thousand tons is supposed to be laid in a polymeric sleeve (comparing with 15 thousand tons last year).

Yesterday’s bad weather caused fallen roofs in Mogilev region. According to the press-service of the Regional Emergency Situations Office, the wind squall of 20 m/second damaged buildings in 4 settlements of Bobruisk district. In Tozhilovichi village a tree fell on the roof of the house. In Turki village the wind damaged a storage house, a cow house, a hay storage. In Turkovskaya Sloboda village sheds and a storage house were destroyed. In Kovali village the wind damaged a central storage house.

May, 26 farmsteads of Mogilev region hold an open day for children from family type orphanages. The information is provided by the Physical Education, Sports and Tourism regional office.

Mogilev region postponed its mass swimming season till June. Bobruisk closed its Forshtadt beach because of the water does not correspond to microbiological norms. According to epidemiologists, most regional beaches are not ready for a swimming season. Neither Mogilev nor Bobruisk signed passports of having got the beaches ready for a swimming season.

Starting from July 1 fee will be charged for the first category highways joining Minsk and the regional centres, including М-4 Minsk-Mogilev and М-5 Minsk-Gomel. Cars under 3.5 tons registered in Belarus and other countries of the Customs Union are exempt from paying.

More than 600 drug users have been registered in Mogilev region; 384 of them are drug addicts. However, the real number of drug users is much higher, specialists of the regional narcological dispensary assure. Only those who turned for medical assistance or were sent to hospitals with overdose have been registered.

Seven hiding places are laid by travelling cyclists along the green route “Zhivaya Voda” in Mogilev region. The hiding places were laid while testing the first part of the route (Mogilev, Dribin, Chausy, Mstislavl, Krichev districts). Its length of 300 kilometers was covered by travelling cyclists within 4 days.

May, 17-19 residents of Mogilev region can attend tournaments, farmworkers' parties, master classes and other events. The region holds the action “The Night of the Museums” dedicated to the International Museums Day. The information is provided by the regional culture office.

Ineffectively used buildings in Mogilev region will be reconstructed into accommodation for rent. The proposition was made by the founder of JSC “Gazosilikat” Igor Rachitski during the meeting of the chairman of Mogilev region executive committee Petr Rudnik and the region’s business representatives dedicated to the problem of attracting investments into the region.

Absolute temperature record (+27.6 degrees Celsius) was registered on May 12 in Mogilev region. The previous record (+26 degrees Celsius) was witnessed on May 12 in 1975.

On May 7-8, Mogilev region will hold the automobile rally dedicated to the Victory Day. Soldiers and officers who took part in different international wars will also participate in the action that starts in Kirovsk, run through Bykhov, Slavgorod, Cherikov, and finishes at Krasnopolie.

On April 30 fifty young people were awarded with special premiums of Mogilev region executive committee in the social sphere for having achieved high results in their professional fields. The region’s best representatives according to year 2012 were also handed the certificates on entering the regional Honours Board.

A number of Lithuanian companies took an interest in implementing investment projects in Mogilev region, a correspondent of the site was told by the deputy chair of Mogilev region executive committee Victor Nekrashevich, after having come back from the IXth International Belarusian-Lithuanian Economic Forum held in Klaipeda (Lithuania).
