This year 48,700 children will improve their health at summer camps of Mogilev region for the account of state social insurance funds; 27,200 of the children will spend time at daytime camps, others – at stationary camps. 400 children camps will operate at the region’s educational and sports establishments (21 stationary and 60 specialised camps, 25 camps at rented apartments, 4 – at sanatoriums).

Mogilev regional TB Dispensary got a grand for a new ventilation system. The project totaling Br3.5 bln will be realized within the framework of the international program “Stop-tuberculosis”. According to the specialists the equipment will guarantee a maximum safety level. The air running to the patients’ rooms and back will be filtered. It will completely exclude occasional infection of the hospital staff.

In April Belarusian public health establishments have changed their schedule due to the shift of a working day. April, 21 and April, 23 polyclinics and outpatients' clinics keep to Saturday’s schedule. April, 22 and April, 29 they will keep to Sunday’s schedule. April, 24 polyclinics and outpatients' clinics work at a holiday regime. April, 28 is a usual working day for polyclinics and outpatients' clinics.

Over January-February 2012 medical service export income of Mogilev region made a 2.5 increase to total $43 thousand. The information is provided by Oksana Rybakova, a head of cost-accounting group of the Regional Public Health Office.

Japanese government allotted the Mogilev regional oncologic dispensary the grant for $109 thousand to buy equipment. The grand is a part of Japanese government’s grand assistance program. The money is for buying ultra sound equipment. The Mogilev regional oncologic dispensary will be able to diagnose tumors and to puncture with ultra sound navigation.

Shklov opened a first-aid station that held major reconstruction. The repairs took 18 months and Br800 mln. This reconstruction is only a beginning of the global modernization of Shklov Central District Hospital.

Mogilev regional hospital hosted the Republican theoretical and practical conference on cardiac surgery. The agenda included master classes during which specialists from Belarus, Russia, Lithuania carried nine heart vessels and aorta operations. More than 100 doctors of medicine were watching the operations online at the conference hall of the medical establishment.

Mogilev launched the latest method of sights problems examination. The regional hospital got two optical coherence tomographies.
The work of optical coherence tomographies is like the one of ultrasound examination. It makes it possible to examine a retina and the structure of the eye, to reveal eye problems. The examination takes a minute and doesn’t cause any discomfort.

“Healthy Nutrition Unified day” is held today at regional health establishments, specialists of prophylaxis department of Mogilev Central Polyclinic inform.
Doctors of different specializations welcome everyone to answer different questions about healthy nutrition and lifestyle. One may get advice during visit planned beforehand or simply come to a doctor to study principles of healthy nutrition. Specialists accept visitors till 6 o’clock p.m.

Stomatological establishments on a regular basis inform population on different matters of health protection, popularize healthy lifestyle through posters, leaflets and booklets. Such measures aim at reducing the rate of stomatological diseases. Carious and periodont diseases still have been among the leaders. “Implementing the Programme of carious and periodont diseases prophylaxis has led to positive results”, - Vitaly Borodinski stated. – Thus, carious rate in the key group of the 12-year-olds decreased to 2.47 (it’s a low rate). Besides, OHI index, though being estimated as a mean level, went down to 1.04. Analysis of the data of the 6-year-old children has revealed 23.8% increase in the number of healthy patients”.

Doctors of Mogilev region are worried about more and more parents reject children’s planned vaccination: within the last three years the number of parents refusing vaccination has doubled.
Religion and modern lifestyle are among the major reasons. If the tendency doesn’t change the region may face epidemic of diphtheria, whooping cough, and poliomyelitis, Sergei Faustov, the highest paediatrics category, warns.

33 ambulance stations work in Mogilev on daily basis. Last year Mogilev city ambulance station received and served over 140.000 calls. 55.000 were in Oktyabrsky housing area.
Not long ago Oktyabrsky housing area had only one ambulance station. It was located in Simonova Street in the hostel building.

On blessing of Bobruisk and Bykhov archbishop Seraphim the department of relationships with medical institutions was established at Bobruisk eparchy. The department is headed by the senior priest of Svyato-Sretenski parish of Bobruisk Ioann Kolyada.
The department co-operates with both medical and educational establishments. Nuns of the parish visit hospitals and boarding schools, take care of the seriously ill and the aged, help to prepare for confession and Eucharist. Children from Sunday school also take part at charity activities.

Bobruisk opens a chamber of drug addiction replacement therapy. The information is provided by Maria Malinovskaya, a PR specialist of the Grants Group of the Global Fund in Belarus.
Today Belarus has 8 chambers of drug addiction replacement therapy. There are results of their work. People get jobs, come back to their families, and restore social relations. The chambers are a part of the UN and the Public Health Ministry’s Program of developing the grants of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB, and malaria.

The World Blood Donor Day is a day dedicated to thanking and celebrating voluntary non-remunerated blood donors. It occurs on June, 14. One of the main goals of the World Blood Donor Day is to ensure the availability of 'safe blood' for transfusion. The motto of the day is “More blood means more life”. The day includes a number of events of blood donor propaganda. According to Elena Nekrashevich, a chief of transfusion department of the Regional Hemotransfusion Station, every month the station provides 340 l of packed red blood cells, 700 l of fresh frozen plasma. In 2010 the station provided 18 tons of whole blood. 440 plasma donors and 900 blood donors visit the station every month.

Julia Ivanova, a medical nurse of Mogilev hospital №1, won at the regional contest for the best medical nurse the result of which were summed up the other day. At the final stage of the contest young women from 12 districts competed in inoculating, measuring arterial pressure, and also sang songs, showed their creativity, joke, etc.

An educational centre of gynaecological endoscopy may soon appear in Mogilev. The respective project was discussed today by the regional administration and a chief medical officer of gynaecology and obstetrics of Cologne hospital professor Thomas Remer.
The delegation of German specialists headed by the professor held yesterday a training seminar for their Belarusian colleagues. Professor Thomas Remer assured that he is eager to send a letter to the Ministry of the Republic of Belarus to promote creating an educational centre of gynaecological endoscopy.
