Its ten members are engaged into meeting orphans and mothers having many children, organizing lectures aimed at preventing spread of alcohol and drugs abuse; besides, they try to persuade women about making abortion to refuse doing it.

The disabled will be granted a new social allowance for buying nappies. The respective Decree №41 will come into force on April 1, 2012.

Daytime nursing centre for the elderly opened today in Mogilev. It is situated at “The centre of social service for population of Leninski district of Mogilev city”. The centre provides care and entertainment for the elderly, both for living alone and with the family, for fee. A new school year is usually a financially difficult time for parents. That’s why Mogilev region provides financial assistance for large families and low-income families.
Petr Rudnik, the governor of Mogilev region, ordered organizations and trade unions to assist such families. By August, 12 1, 160 large and low-income families got financial assistance. The information is provided by Svetlana Tarasenko, the chief of the Regional Labour, Employment and Social Security Committee.
Targeted social assistance is provided for over 520 needing families. 510 low-income families got humanitarian assistance. Work in this social sphere continues.

385 careless parents were provided with steady employment in Mogilev region during the six months of 2011, the correspondent of the site was told by deputy chair of labour, employment and social protection committee Vladimir Shepelevich.
These parents are obliged persons, i.e. people who must work and pay maintenance for their children cared at orphanages. When they miss their jobs for more than 10 days during three months, or deceive about income and salary, thus causing violation of their obligations, they may be sent to prison up to 2 years (according to 174 Article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus).

June 2011 Mogilev region opened 119 social shops and departments. The information is provided by Oleg Buyanov, the head of the Trade and Services Office of Mogilev Regional Executive Committee.
These social outlets work in Mogilev, Bobruisk and 18 district towns. By July, 8 the shops and departments of the kind start working in Glusk, Klichev, Chausy. According to Oleg Buyanov, the prices are the lowest in the region. The cost of the conditional consumer goods basket in the region is cheaper than in Gomel (14%), Minsk (7%). Grodno (5%). The region keeps the lowest prices for rice, buckwheat, oils, butter, sour milk, cabbage, union, apples. At the same time some goods are more expensive.

The regional authorities requested to widen assortment of products for low-income population. The list of the products includes: low-fat milk, cottage cheese, liver sausages, and by-products. Antonina Moiseeva, a chief of the Meat and Dairy Goods Department, says that the commission is being executed. Figures tell for themselves. In May 2011 the region’s enterprises produced 340 tons of 1.5% milk. Only two weeks of June produced 226 tons of 1.5% milk, defatted cottage cheese output made – 32 tons (comparing with 44 tons in May), defatted sour milk – 130 tons (comparing with 139 tons in May), 12% sour cream – 41 (comparing with 33 tons in May) .
