Belarus volleyball players won the first qualifying round of the Word Championship-2014 held at “Olimpiets” sports complex in Mogilev.
Women's national team of Belarus defeated three competitors from the qualifying group “B”. All of the teams (Finland, Denmark, and Israel teams) were beaten hollow, the coach Victor Goncharov told.

May, 24-26 Mogilev’s “Olympiets” hosts a qualification tournament of the World Women’s Volleyball Championship. The national teams from Belarus, Denmark, Israel and Finland will take part in the event. Matches begin at 15.30 and 18.00.

The final third stage of the Republic of Belarus team championship in table tennis opens at “Olimpiets” sports complex in Mogilev on April 5, chief referee of the tournament told. 80 tennis players from all regions and Minsk city will come to Mogilev. The first age group consists of sportsmen born in 2000 – 2001, the second one - born in 2002 and younger.

Tennis players from Orenburg (Russia) won the XXXXIVth Tanya Karpinskaya Table Tennis International Tournament-Memorial. Eleven teams from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, and Lithuania partook in the tournament.

Young sportsmen from Mogilev region won 25 medals at the XXXVIth Free-style Wrestling International Tournament in the name of the honourable citizen of Mogilev, the Hero of the Soviet Union, Nikolai Korolev. The competitions were held on October 30-31 at “Olimpiets” Sports Complex in Mogilev.

5 gold medals and 6 bronze medals were won by judoists from Mogilev region during the tournament organized in memory of the Hero of the Soviet Union Andrei Melnikov. The tournament was held within June 29 - July 1 at “Olimpiets” sports complex in Mogilev.

Belarusian volleyball players beat Lithuanian sportswomen at the second tour of the junior volleyball Euro qualification in Mogilev’s Sports Complex “Olympiets”. The results of three sets are 3:0 (25:19, 25:22, 25:16).

On February 25-26 Mogilev hosts Belarus junior track and field open championship (among young sportsmen born in 1993-1994) and Belarus – Ukraine – Turkey international match. The championship is held at “Olimpiets” sports complex (1A, 30 Let Pobedy st.); it’s one of the steps to prepare for Europe junior championship that will take place in July 2012 in Barcelona (Spain).

Mogilev basketball men team plays in a minor league instead of a major one; it happens for the first time in the history of national championships, “Mogilevskie vedomasti” inform.
According to the director of “Borisphen” basketball club Vladimir Kopylov, the reason lies in the sphere of finances: lack of financial resources prevent sportsmen from participating in the major league. Both men and women teams have to play in the minor league (i.e. without being paid salaries).

The national basketball team of Belarus won the International Men’s Basketball Tournament in Mogilev. For three days the Sports Complex “Olympiets” held basketball tournament with participation of teams from Belarus, Ukraine, Cyprus, Jordan. Belarusians were the strongest to win the gold. Sportsmen from Cyprus were the second. Ukrainians got the third result. A wooden medal went to basketball players from Jordan.

The results of handball championship among boys were summed up at “Olimpiets” sports complex; besides awarding ceremony of winners of the all-the-year-round handball competition among school children was held. It was for the first time when Mogilev region has held the all-the-year-round handball competition among boys born in 1997-1998. The competition was initiated by “Masheka” handball club; 11 schools partook in it. The winner – the team of school №35 – was awarded a diploma, a cup, and were given presents and Br2.5 mln prize.

On June 5 “Olimpiets” sports complex hosts the II Powerlifting Open Championship of Mogilev region. All volunteers are welcome to partake at bench pressing; the major weight categories are 59, 66, 74, 83, 93, 105, above 105. The winners will be awarded medals and diplomas.

Mogilev’s “Olympiets” Sports Complex started V National Youth’s handball competition “Stremitelny Myach”. Boys and girls born in 1998-1999 will represent 8 teams taking part in the contest: Mogilev region, Brest region, Vitebsk region, Gomel region, Grodno region, Minsk region and Minsk City.

May, 18-22 “Olympiets” is to hold qualifying matches of the Juniors Volleyball World’s Championship. The information is provided by Alexander Bagrintsev, the executive director of the Belarusian Volleyball Federation. Mogilev will welcome sportsmen from Serbia, Turkey, Latvia, Montenegro, and Belarus (Group B).
The qualifying tournament includes four groups. The winners of each of them will compete in the World’s Championship. The first team to go to the World’s Championship will be chosen from the teams that took the second place. It will be the team with the best coefficient.
The final list of the Juniors Volleyball World’s Championship will be defined in Brazil in August.

Volleyball Youth Team of Belarus (consisting of young men born in 1991 or earlier) has been preparing to qualifying round of Volleyball World Championship-2011 that will be held at “Olimpiets” sports complex on May 18-22.
Victor Sidelnikov (a former coach of Mogilev team) is the coach of our team; other representatives of “Mogilev lions” are Arthur Drapchinski, Ivan Vododokhov, Pavel Mikhalovski, Sergei Meshkov.

Boys and girls under 20 years old of 8 different weight categories will come to Mogilev from different towns of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and Latvia.
Both the winners and other participants may be awarded the title of master of sports according to their results.
